Flipped Classroom

Video Development

For this assignment I created a video to supplement the kiln education course I teach to ceramic art educators at schools and art centers.  The specific video I created is an in depth look at the relay from inside the kiln as part of the anatomy and troubleshooting section of this course.  Previously I’ve taught this segment holding a real relay in my hand as a visual while I verbally explain how it works.  I also show in the presentation (included in Pinterest board) how the relay is part of the functioning kiln system.  In-person or virtually, this has been a segment I’ve wanted to improve for a long time due to the small size and complexity of this part.

This video segment was created using still images created with Photoshop.  I used an actual photo of a relay as well as some clipart graphics I found online.  It was put together using Premiere Pro combining the still images and the scripted voice over, which was recorded using my phone’s microphone on a free app.
